Unlike most promotion houses who would send your job to a screen house, Double D Promotions is a screen house so we handle all the work in-house. This results in a savings to you the customer and provides a faster turn around time.

As with most projects there is a process involved to get from conception to finished product.

UNDERSTANDING THE SCREENING PROCESS

In this section we would like to walk you through the screen printing process we utilize to bring your project from an idea to a finished product.

In the screening process, the first step is to choose the item to be printed on out of a catalogue or from our samples. We then require the artwork either supplied by you (the customer) or created by us.

Once we have the artwork (either by file or hardcopy) we need to create a film positive. The film positive is required to produce a screen, which will then be used to print your job.

Note: Each color in a job requires a separate film, it also requires us to produce a separate screen.

Once a screen is created we can then print your job in whatever color you require, and to the number you specify.

*Keep in mind that once a film is created it can be used over and over again.

UNDERSTANDING THE BILLING PROCESS

FILM CHARGE –- The film charge is based on the size of print. As you know all jobs require film. The film belongs to you when the job is paid for. You can choose to have it returned to you or we can file it away to be used to create a screen for future jobs.

SCREEN SETUP - The screen setup charge is for the time taken to prepare the screen and to set it up on the press. This charge is only for the labour involved, the actual screen is re-used and belongs to us and the film belongs to you.

ARTWORK CHARGES - Artwork charges are for any further work required on your submission. This is quoted on a job-to-job basis. Most jobs are sent to us via e-mail, but we can create logos if your budget allows.

SIZE AS FILM - The size of the film should be the size of the print required or we will have to create a new film.

CAMERA READY ARTWORK - This is a black and white copy of the image you want to be printed. It must be clean copy or artwork charges may apply.
